What is coaching?

Think about your life right now. How do you feel when you get up in the morning and go to bed at night? What is the dream on the horizon winking at you to come out and play?

At its most basic, coaching is a process that gets you from where you are now in life to that horizon where the dream is no longer in your imagination but is how you wake up and go to bed everyday.

At its most expansive, the coaching process expands your consciousness and potential beyond what you see as possible. Grand I know, but the act of engaging honestly and deeply with your life and yourself is a radical act of self empowerment that ripples out to all the corners of you life.

I like to call coaching Practical Alchemy because it takes your circumstances, beliefs, struggles, and desires, and transforms them into beauty, purpose, direction and success. The process looks a bit different for everyone, because this is real life and real life is never one size, or process, fits all. Most often it feels a lot like a conversation, but one with the clear focus and intention of your transformation. I draw from my background in Co-Active coaching, psychology, gender studies, spirituality and metaphysics, natural health, and creative arts to inform our work together.

Ultimately, coaching is a space where you sink in to who you really are while at the same time courageously stretching into the woman you are called to be.

Why would I want a coach?

Because the world is craving your beauty, your vision, your essence, and you are aching to give it. Because our 40’s and 50’s are where, finally, we women sink into who we were always meant to be. Because it is time to move away from what is expected, but no longer has meaning, and into your luscious life.

Like most of us, I bet there is big gap between where you are and what you want. How can there not be given the over busy, over worked, externally focused world we live in. Top that off with the chaos of midlife, what is a deeply feeling, creative soul to do?

Get support. I offer that support.

This is not a magic bullet or miracle cure, but having a coach greatly increases the speed and effectiveness of change. There is deep work calling, and there may be tears ahead along with doses of wild laughter, but you are worth the investment.

What is Tarot?

Officially, Tarot is an ancient divination system made up of 78 cards representing human and spiritual archetypes and situations. It is most often used to gain clarity and insight about a person’s life and circumstances.

I think of Tarot as Deep Soul Diving because it taps into the deeper levels of our wisdom and reveals messages our soul and the mysteries want to communicate. I use Tarot as the foundation of the Guidance Sessions

No fortune telling, winning lottery numbers, or predictions about soul mates. The power of Tarot is not in telling your future, which it can’t, but in having it lead you to deeper awareness and connection with yourself so you can create the future you want.

Please note: You always have the final say in what is true for you, about what direction your life goes. You always have choice. If you don’t like were you are now you have the power to shift it. I bring my skills and intuition to our sessions, but you are the expert on you. Do no let anyone tell you what will or will not happen or what is or is not possible for you regardless of the divination system or their expertise. Only you have that ability.

Are you psychic?

No. I do not think of myself as psychic. I consider myself very intuitive and sensitive, many would say empathic. The best way I can describe what I do is that I “feel into” a space, what is being said, what I see and I get impressions, images, words, sensations that seem to have meaning and significance.

Can I just do a regular Tarot reading with you rather than the Guidance Sessions, which is two parts?

I will sometimes do a short Tarot reading for a current coaching client, but otherwise, no. While a lot can be done with one reading, what I am most passionate about is helping you expand and apply the insights and wisdom gained from the session into your life. The is why I created The Guidance Sessions.

This structure was inspired by my clients, friends, and my own experiences, of the times we had readings of all sorts and wished we could have a follow up. A chance for clarification or to ask that question that you thought of later. In fact, it is not uncommon for someone after having their Guidance Sessions, move into coaching because she wants to continue the work that has opened up.

What is the difference between The Guidance Sessions and Coaching?

The Guidance Sessions are designed to give you insight and clarity around a specific circumstance or issue and use the Tarot to guide our conversation. I think of these sessions as a three way sacred meeting between you, me, and the cards. This package is great for creating alignment around a decision or gaining perspective and choice about an issue or difficult situation.

Coaching is where we work together over time and our relationship is designed around and focused on transforming you and your life. Change that lasts, growth that has deep roots, only happens with consistent attention and support, which is what the coaching relationship is built on. The women who choose coaching are ready to do the deep, steady work of sustainable change.

So I would say, come the Guidance Sessions when you want shot of insight, clarity and focus. Come to Coaching when you are ready to initiate big change and know that having support would make all the difference.

Why do you call your coaching packages journeys?

Over the course of our time together you will travel and explore your life in new ways. You will take actions that create change, make choices that will define new directions, cast aside outdated beliefs and habits in favor of new thoughts and practices that nourishes and strengthen you. You will not be in the same place as when you started. You will have taken a rich journey.

You have two coaching packages, or as you call them journeys. How do I know which one is right for me?

Most start with Practical Alchemy and move into Cultivating the Priestess, although not always. I am a big believer in resonance. Which is calling to you right now? If you have any questions or curiosity about either journey or which is right for you, please contact me and we can talk. Here is more description of the journeys so you can see which one attracting you.

Practical Alchemy is for you if now is the time to initiate big change. Whether external, like a business, job, relationship or creative project, or internal like gaining clarity, direction and purpose. Even if you don’t know what this looks like, you know that now is the time to focus on yourself and do the deep work (and play!) of transforming your life. If you are new to coaching or have a specific big project you are taking on, Practical Alchemy is the place to start.

Cultivating the Priestess is for women who are ready to take a deep dive into their internal world and majestically shake up their outside world. The Priestess is the part of you that arises when you are ready to embody your power and life at the level of your sacred, vital energy. We consciously tap into the mystic realms of your energetic and physical body, intuition, intention, and learn the magical and tangible art of creation. This may sound woo-woo and airy but believe me, this work is nuts and bolts practical. Most often those who choose this journey have done a fair amount of inner work in some form and want the intimate learning and personalized support that this journey gives.

Because the Priestess journey is intensive, with self guided work between sessions, it is for those who have the space in their lives for their inner world and processes. For those willing to choose themselves over yet another empty obligation or to-do. This does not mean that you need to be a lady of leisure with no real world responsibilities. It means you have the willingness to set the time aside to focus on yourself. As women we often struggle with this and feel guilty about giving ourselves permission to take care of ourselves in this way.

(Personal soap box moment!) Whether through this work or not, it is essential that you give yourself at least the amount (and even more) of care and attention you most likely don’t think twice about giving to others. This is not about being selfish or self centered, it is not even about taking care of your self so you can take care of others. It is about honoring the precious, divine gift you are and it is the top, most effective, way to your happiness and success. The Priestess journey is for those who want to honor themselves and their world in this way.

When would working with you not be right?

If you are looking for a quick fix or for someone to tell you what to do, or if you are not willing to find the time and attention to devote to your learning and growth, this would not be a good match for you.

My coaching and Tarot work is focused on where you are now and moving you forward. If there are significant issues from your past that are not resolved enough to let you move forward, therapy or some other modality may be a more useful. If you are deeply, clinically depressed or in any other serious situation, such as mental or physical trauma, illness or abuse, I am not qualified or trained to give you the treatment you need and deserve. In situations like these coaching or Tarot are not what will serve you.

That said, there is no, zero, not a shred, of an expectation that you have all the answers, have it all together, in any way be perfect. That is impossible and a cruel thing to try and live up to. Not only that, striving and waiting for perfection stops growth and change from happening. I work with women who are real and often real looks like a mess, or hurt, or raw, or uncertain. Real is often brilliance wrapped in a heavy layer of doubt or pain. Bring all of it, as it is showing up for you, right now!

A few words about money.

It is often a concern, I understand. In particular the coaching journeys are a financial commitment. If working with me would cause financial worry or strain, the timing may not be right. I am all for finding creative ways of finding money for what is important and for some it can look like stretching or shifting priorities. It is empowering and sends clear signals to your deeper self and the universe you are serious about claiming your power. However, if the financial commitment puts you into added stress and worry, wait. This is also a clear and powerful signal to yourself and the universe that you are claiming your power! Sign up for my Soulful Luscious Beauty mailing list and check out my blog. There is information and help there to get you started creating a foundation that will grow and have this work not feel like such a unsafe financial stretch. If you are not sure if the timing is right for you to begin this work, again please reach out and let’s talk.

What if, at the end of my journey I want more?

Fantastic! We will spend some time towards the end of your journey creating the way you want to conintue the work. We will talk about the different ways that can look for you. For many our time together will be done. For others continuing coaching may be just the thing.

You say you work with midlife women. I am not in that age group but am very drawn to what you are saying. Can I still work with you?

Absolutely. Let’s talk. I believe in the wisdom of resonance. If you are drawn to my work I trust there is a good reason. The common theme with all my clients are that they are in a time of significant transition, are creating something that requires a new level of wisdom and trust. I find these themes very pronounced and common at midlife, but are no way bound by chronological age.

What about men?

Honestly, I don’t get many men seeking me out. No surprise, my site and my writing are focused towards women. However, I have worked with men and the work is very rich and rewarding. If you have been referred to me or find that something about this work calls to you for what ever reason, let’s talk! I trust there is a reason for the interest. My work is deeply steeped in the sacred feminine, which is not the exclusive domain of women and every bit as powerful and necessary for men.

How do I pay, and are payments possible?

Once our session time is set I will send you a PayPal invoice. Payment in full is required for The Guidance Sessions, and full or monthly payments are available for the coaching journeys. If you would prefer to pay by check, just let me know. If you have questions about the details of payment you can contact me here.

How do you work? Can we meet in person?

I do all my work by phone, Monday- Thursdays, with a few evening times available.

If you will be using a cell phone, please make sure you have strong reception.

You use works like “mystic”, “energy”, “soul”, a lot. Is this religious? Will it conflict with my beliefs?

I think of my work as deeply spiritual because it connects you to your source, however you define that. It is not religious, as I am not working from a formal doctrine. The only beliefs I am interested in challenging are the ones that do not serve you and stop you from the freedom, joy, and success that is meant for you. I have worked with women with of many different faiths who have found this work to be enlightening, nourishing and liberating. It only requires and open mind and willingness to try some new things.
